I can't interpret too much out of this, but Derrek Lee's 0.433 batting average on balls in play (BA/BIP) is much higher than the rest of the league. Take a look at the below histogram for all qualified (3.1 PA/G) AL & NL batters through June 20, 2005:

In case you couldn't tell, Derrek Lee is the guy on the far right. To me this either means he's got something nobody else has, or he's just been lucky and will regress toward the mean as the season goes on.
